The Feldenkrais Method is a form of somatic education that incorporates gentle movement and focus to improve movement, range of motion, flexibility and coordination. These improvements will often affect functioning in other aspects of your life.
The Method enables students to become more aware of their chronic muscular tension patterns and stiffness. By increasing awareness to movement, tension patterns, and rigidity, the Feldenkrais Method assists students to release tension and stress to live life more fully, efficiently and comfortably.
At The Art of Control®, we offer individual sessions in Feldenkrais, called "Functional Integration" sessions, which give you an opportunity to explore your own healing and recovery with one-on-one attention, and in a class format, called Awareness Through Movement. During group classes, the Feldenkrais teacher will verbally lead students through a sequence of movements in basic positions: sitting or lying on the floor, standing or sitting in a chair.
