I 've seen PT and OT already & have been cleared. Pilates is truly amazing--not just in getting me moving again but I think I would have been much worse off in the actual accident. VB came to Simona in April 2009 after suffering weeks of hip pain from a superior labral tear. She also had back pain from a L3-L4 disc protrusion impressing the L4 nerve root, and a small central disc protrusion at L4-L5. Although VB’s physicians were recommending hip surgery, she turned to Pilates to strengthen her hips and back. During weekly Pilates sessions, her pain subsided and she had a follow-up x-ray a year later. Her results showed only a small disc protrusion at L3-L4, and no protrusion at L4-L5. VB is continuing to improve every week by strengthening her lumbar spine and hip region and maintaining her flexibility without the need for surgery. She is able to leave a healthy lifestyle and be an active mother for her two boys. VB’s story is a true testament to the enormous benefits of Pilates training.
